No, Costa Rica no longer requires that you purchase insurance to enter the country.

It is recommended that you purchase health insurance for when you travel, however it isn’t mandatory.

Do I need a visa to enter Costa Rica?

US nationals do not require an entry visa to Costa Rica. However, they must have a current valid passport and a return ticket to exit Costa Rica within 90 days. (Either to return to your country or to go to another country).  A US passport must be valid for a minimum of one day from the day you enter Costa Rica. As a tourist US nationals cannot stay more than 90 days. For a stay longer than 90 days a residence permit must be established.

Other nationals might not require an entry visa to Costa Rica. To verify all entry requirements according to your nationality please see the following link: http://www.costarica-embassy.org/index.php?q=node/51

When you arrive to Costa Rica customs you will need to show an address of where you will be staying while in Costa Rica.

The Diamond Retreat Address is: Tierra Sagrada, Las Lagunas, Puntarenas

How do I get to the retreat place from the airport?

Tierra Sagrada is located in Las Laguna, Puntarenas, about 4 hrs from SJO Airport. A shuttle will be arranged for you and is included in the retreat price if your flight arrives at SJO on or before March 15th in order to be picked up between 9am - 11:00am anywhere within the SJO vicinity on that same day, Wednesday, March 15th.  If your flight arrives after 10am on Wednesday, March 15th then you will have an option of booking yourself a private ride with one of our drivers that we have on call, and this ride from the airport to the retreat site will cost you $160 total.

You are welcome to share a ride with other participants as the cost remains the same for the ride whether it’s one or two passengers.  Please let us know if you need to arrange a ride separate from the shuttle and we will provide you with the driver’s contact information (the driver speaks English) and we will also let you know if there are any other participants that arrive after 10am on March 15th that you can share the ride with.
